For a year, I became aware of many things: the importance of paying attention to the environment, animals, employees of the poor and emerging countries are underpaid ...
I wanted to act by boycotting conventional brands, focusing on organic and fair comerce and signing petitions that seemed important.
My entourage does not agree with me on this path. My father told me to care about the environment is good but the rest is useless. According to him, the bio is just marketing. I agree, if we take the products with writing "bio" label but, we actually have. But some are nevertheless serious as "Nature and Progress".
In terms of fair trade and organic clothing: I was told that it was simply impossible that I could never buy my whole wardrobe respecting my values. I resigned myself to listen. Yet I felt bad when I was walking in town with chrome neous shoes that had polluted rivers while gradually suffocating the workers who made them. And when I watched reports on employee working conditions in Asia, on the pollution caused by conventional industry: I remember that he always had to believe in yourself, in its values and dreams.
Sex toys were the same. They were often made of dangerous chemicals. And then placed into the body. I read a test about 16 toys. It was scary. "Four had phthalates, a component of plastic that is banned from kids’ toys in the United States and EU because it has been linked to birth defects and changes in hormone levels. One of the sex toys also had trimethhyltin chloride, five contained phenol, and 14 contained toluene, all of which are chemicals on the California governor’s list of chemicals that are cancerous or cause reproductive harm."
But this company not sell any items that have these chemicals.
So I decided that this time if I hear Gandhi!
Now I am more careful with bad eyes that throw me my relatives. Because I am proud of my choice, to show them proudly to the world.
That last sentence seems but it hides a black dot that is difficult for me to solve my parents did not want me to be vegetarian or vegan. According to them, vegans are attention seekers. They also consider it too complicated for meals. Personally I do not see why, for the common meal they serve that we put in a separate dish and that it does not add meat and that the problem would be resolved. Only when our parents are against something and little more open-minded, go to the change your mind! So I make all my possible outside not to eat animal flesh, if possible I vegan but this is rare. I also asked my mother to prepare one meal a week I do vegan and all natural. I also took the initiative to propose a vegetarian day but they refused.
So I hope to share with you on this blog, and share via the comments or the contact form.
